Kids play. Moms work. Within earshot.
Looking for moms who want both: be there for their kids and work on their projects.
Hi. My name is Lina. I am a mother of a small child (1-2 years old). I don't want to put my kid in a Kita. At the same time, I want to move forward with my personal goals and projects. What I'm looking for doesn't exist anywhere within reach. So I'm trying to build it myself.
My child would put it like this: "I want Mama close. Not holding me — just there. I'm very busy exploring the world around me: I try things, I climb, I play with the other kids. But when I fall, or get frustrated, or just need her for a minute, I want to be able to run to her and find her. Then I go back to playing."
The idea: Three to four mothers with their children, one qualified carer whom we hire and pay together. Alone, a nanny is a luxury. Shared between three to four families, it's around CHF 9-12 per hour per child. We meet 2-3 times a week for 4 hours. The children play together and are looked after. We're there the whole time — in the same room, or the next door with the door open. And we get a few hours for our own work.
The care is professional. The organizing is ours. We decide together whom we hire, when and where we meet, and by what rules.
This is for you if...
- your child is roughly 1–4 years old
- you live in Zurich or in the Limmattal — Geroldswil, Weiningen, Oetwil, Unter- or Oberengstringen, Dietikon or Urdorf
- you can cover around CHF 36–48 per day for the childcare
- you have something you want to work on: a business, a degree, a job, a (creative) project — and you don't want to hand your child over to do it
If that's you, get in touch. If you know someone it fits, please pass it on.
